Govt Announces 5500 Jobs With Ksh21,000 Pay & Allowances; How to Apply

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection on Friday, April 7, announced over 5,500 job opportunities for Kenyans across 12 counties.

In a notice, the ministry indicated that the short-term enumeration jobs would last 21 days and attract a pay of Ksh1,000 per day.

The ministry explained that the enumerators would collect data across the counties.

Counties targetted in the data collection exercise and the available op[opportunities were; Kakamega (971), Kajiado (661), Meru (436), Mombasa (476), Homabay (551), Nyamira (288), Elgeyo Marakwet (287), Bungoma (866), Nyandarua (323), Machakos (481), Kirinyaga (178), and Migori (50).

"Successful candidates will be paid daily wages of Ksh1,000 based on daily targets as outlined in the appointment letter, payable at the end of the 21 days.

"Transport allowance shall be paid at the rate of Ksh500 per day to facilitate data collection. Airtime will be provided," read the advert in part.

Qualifications

The Ministry noted applicants should have registered a minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of C- (minus).

Additionally, applicants are also required to have proficiency in using computers.

"Candidates must be a resident of the sub-location and conversant with the local language exception is given to urban centres which are considered metropolitan." read the advert in part.

How to Apply

It was indicated that the application would be done online through the application portal -: www.socialprotection.go.ke.

"Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear in person before interview/recruitment panels on scheduled dates, venues and time to be communicated," read the notice in part.

Interested candidates were advised to make their applications before the April 24 deadline.
