"He is still under medical care, but the surgery was done in March 2023, not today," Orinda confirmed.

"He was in tears when he regained his voice and he thanked God for several minutes. He only siad the words 'Thank you, God'," DJ Evolve's father stated.

Orinda also stated that his son had significantly improved since he was first taken in for medication on January 17, 2020, when he was shot in the neck by Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino.

However, DJ Evolve's father did not reveal the hospital in which the delicate surgery was performed, promising to give more details later.

"We really celebrate his progress since we never thought that he would regain his health, even though slow, but very encouraging," DJ Evolve expressed.

The development came after a Nairobi court recently approved a deal between Babu Owino and DJ Evolve to have an attempted murder case against the Legislator withdrawn.

The Director of Public Prosecution had charged Babu with the attempted murder of DJ Evolve after he allegedly shot him (Evolve) in the neck at a popular club in the upmarket estate of Kilimani, Nairobi.

In the deal, Babu offered to clear Orinda's Ksh17 million hospital bill and pay his nursing costs until he fully recovers.

In addition, he promised to continue paying for his medical bill and buy the DJ a custom-made vehicle for his DJ job.

Nonetheless, on Tuesday, April 18, Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi ruled that Babu had a case to answer over the misuse of a firearm.

“After evaluating prosecution evidence and all the exhibits including CCTV footage, l find that the prosecution has proved a prima facie case against the accused person.

"I, therefore, find him with a case to answer and accordingly place him on his defence,” Ochoi ruled.
