Joshua Kiprop Chemei on Wednesday, April 26, finally met Kiharu Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro after going public with an appeal to finance his music career.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Chemei noted that the legislator had assured him of his support to finance his fledgling gospel music career but remained mum on the amount.

In a separate statement, Nyoro praised the artist's skills noting that he was a talented singer and gospel emcee and even joked about the two undergoing a DNA test.

“It was a lovely afternoon connecting with "my Brother" Joshua Kiprop Chemei (MC Chemei) in our office.

“A very talented MC and Gospel artist from Nandi County. Uchunguzi umeanza tuone namna gani. (Investigations have started so that we can find out the truth),” he commented.

The vibrant legislator also shared a series of photographs of the two of them hanging together at his cozy office.

Chemei thanked the lawmaker for setting up a meeting with him, despite his busy schedule to discuss his career.

“The leaders we want. Thank you my brother Ndindi Nyoro for the response,” the 26-year-old stated.

On Monday, April 24, the Nandi-based gospel artist had made an emotional plea on his social media account, requesting Nyoro to support his talent.

“Hello, Ndindi Nyoro, I am Joshua Kiprop Kemei, a gospel artist. I think you are my brother - look alike.

“Kindly support my talent,” read the words that Kiprop, who doubles up as a master of ceremony wrote on a placard.

The boost came at a time a majority of Kenyan Gospel artists in the country have been suffering, particularly due to the unavailability of shows.

Recently, another singer identified as Mercy Jerop, appealed to Transport Cabinet Secretary to buy her a car aimed at easing her trips to spread the word of God.

Although Murkomen was vowed not to purchase a car for her, he promised to support her salon business whose doors had been shut at the onset of the pandemic.

"Mercy was a saloonist who, like many other entrepreneurs, suffered a major setback in 2020 because of (the pandemic). We have discussed how I can support the revival of her business," he ended.
