“He has experience spanning over 30 years in diverse business portfolios, ranging from telecommunications; income tax and customs; manufacturing, information communication, and technology and energy transmission,” a statement from Kenya Power announcing his appointment read in part.

Before joining Kenya Power, Siror had worked as a Director of Science, Technology Innovation and Communication at the National Economic and Social Council (NESC).

He had also previously worked at the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) as a Senior Assistant Commissioner.

Other firms he worked for include; Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation and Firestone East Africa Limited.

“Siror brings a wealth of experience, expertise, integrity and energy to the company.

“His time in the public sector as well as his training and knowledge will help provide Kenya Power with a fresh start and build on the past success to deliver an exciting new strategic direction for the company,” the company stated why they had settled on him.

While announcing his appointment, Masinde recognized immense contributions made by previous MDs of the company.

“The Board wishes to recognize and appreciate the services Muli and Rosemary Oduor, who served in an acting capacity from April 2021 to May 2022 and remain key to the Company’s transition strategy,” the Board stated.

The search for a new Kenya Power MD was announced on February 2023.

“The MD will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the company, articulate the Board of Directors’ vision, steer day-to-day management and coordinate activities that increase the return on shareholder’s investment,” the company stated back then.
