The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on Wednesday, May 17, opened the application portal for the 2022 KCSE candidates to select and revise their courses of choice.

Speaking at the University of Nairobi, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu noted that KUCCPS had verified all the fees for all programmes on the website.

He added that the details were available for all students to read through before making a decision.

"I have asked the KUCCPS to open the portal to allow students to start applying for courses they wish to study in universities and TVETS.

"I made this directive after being satisfied that the Placement service has made conditions for the new model having verified all the fee details of all programmes on their website. These details will be available for all students," he stated.

Further, the Education CS reiterated that courses in public universities would only be eligible for both government scholarships and loans while those selected in private universities would be eligible for government loans.

In order to assist in the application process, the Placement Service was directed to partner with the Huduma Secretariat to ensure students could apply from all 52 Huduma Centres countrywide.

After the application process, CS Machogu affirmed that the students would be expected to contact their respective institutions for joining instructions and guidance on how to apply for Government scholarships and loans, which would be issued in accordance with the funding model.

KUCCPS noted that the candidates ought to apply before June 7, 2023.
