Full List of KUCCPS Colleges Offering IT Courses for E Students & Their Charges

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on Wednesday, May 17 announced that students who sat for the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams can select and revise their courses on the online platform.

The students, who are set to join their preferred institutions of higher learning in September, have three weeks to select their courses based on cut off points and cost of programmes. 

In the 2022 KCSE, 12,760 female and 18,062 male candidates scored a mean grade of E. Despite, the performance, there are several courses the students can pursue including Information Technology (IT) courses.

The government emphasised on supporting technology and advocating for IT-related courses to help keep up with the changing times.

On the KUCCCPS portal, the students have a wide range of choices in different institutions across the country offering IT-related courses.

Notably, the course costs Ksh67,189 per year, according to the information provided

Some of the institutions include Maasi Mara Technical Vocational College, Mathira Technical and Vocational College, Mwala Technical & Vocational College, and Cherangany Technical and Vocational College.

Others are Nachu Technical and Vocational College, St Joseph Technical Institute for Deaf Nyang'oma, Kieni Technical and Vocational College, Kinango Technical and Vocational College, and Mawengo Technical Training Institute.

The course offered was titled Artisan in Information in Communication Technology, Nationa Vocational Certificate of Education and Training (NVCET) in ICT, NVCET Certificate in Information in Information Communication Technology, NVCET in ICT (KNEC) for a maximum of four trainees and NVCET level I and II in ICT.

However, KUCCPS did not disclose the cutoff points for the class of 2022.

To select and revise courses, students are urged to log in at students.kuccps.net where they will be required to input their personal details including the KCSE index numbers, KCSE year, and a password of choice.

Once on the website, select the 'Programmes' or 'Institutions' tabs to select the course of choice. On the programmes tab, students get to see the cost and cut-off points for the course.

Use the course code for selection, you are at liberty to select up to four courses before clicking the 'Application/Revision' tab.

Once done, the student can click 'Apply Now' and wait for confirmation from the institution.
