It was reported that the passenger - believed to be deaf- had been stripped after failing to pay the fare of Ksh1,000.

However, officials from the Sacco maintained that none of their officials undressed the passenger.

The shuttle secretary Dan Kanyamu also refuted claims that the passenger was female as was widely reported on social media.

The official indicated that the passenger undressed after being woken up by the conductor to disembark from the vehicle as they had arrived in Nairobi at the Tea Room stage.

Kanyamu claimed that the middle-aged man then started undressing promoting the driver to drive to the Central Police Station to report the matter.

“After some minutes of commotion at the Tea Room mainstage, the young man started unclothing himself and the driver drove the vehicle to Central Police station in Nairobi where the police forced him to get dressed,” the official stated.

The passenger is yet to give his account of events.

On the other hand, officers based at the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) also apprehended an Embassava Sacco tout who is alleged to have thrown a 17-year-old boy out of a moving bus for falling short by Ksh20 in fare.

The teenager succumbed to his injuries.

"Following the unfortunate incident that led to the loss of the life of a passenger onboard a vehicle belonging to Embasava Sacco, the conductor who was at large has been apprehended by NTSA and handed over to the police.

"He was booked vide O.B 12/19/05/2023 at Capitol Hill Police Station for the offence of failing due care of passengers aboard a PSV," Murkomen stated.
