"The Embasava conductor has been arrested and handed over to the cops by NTSA in Nairobi. The police are expected to prefer charges against him," the official stated.

The tout was accused of pushing the teenager out of a moving bus along Outering Road on Wednesday, May 17.

At the time, it was revealed that the teenager was short of the required fare of Ksh20, which then led to an altercation with the tout.

After the incident, the 17-year-old died from the injuries he sustained during the incident where he was pushed out and ran over by the same Public Service Vehicle (PSV).

Following the incident, irate passengers and other onlookers set the bus ablaze.

Speaking to the press later, the bus driver refuted the account of events maintaining that the deceased was not thrown off the bus.

“I ferried people from Pipeline, heading to town. When we got to Quarry (Kware), the conductor signalled me to stop to allow passengers to alight.

“In the process of switching lanes, I felt like I had stepped on something like a stone. When I checked the side mirror, I saw it was a person,”  he stated.
