Pauline Njoroge, the new Deputy Organising Secretary for Jubilee Party is a champion for the youth and a political strategists, rubbing shoulders with the high and mighty in Kenya's political space.

Unknown to many, her journey began in a humble household in Githiga village in Kiambu County.

Despite the challenges she faced while growing up, Njoroge was smart and determined with a goal of becoming a political big shot in a country where the game requires a thick skin.

Her answer, she believed lay in the hands of Former President the late Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, a man who ruled Kenya, a republic for 24 full years, with an iron fist, sparing no political opponent.

In her blog “My education journey - A story of pain and hope” she narrated that the approached GSU officers at the residence of the former president and asked to see him after completing high school.

She believed that because Moi had educated her late mother, he would come to her rescue and fund her university education.

The officers made a call and she was instructed to write to Moi Foundation, requesting for a scholarship, a move she believed would not be of much help to her.

“Former president Moi had educated my late mum back in the day and I was sure if I got a chance to see him and tell him my story, he would support my education too.

“So I went to Kabarnet Gardens, bravely approached the GSU Officers at the gate, and explained why I needed to see Mzee. They called the house, and I spoke with a lady on the landline who told me to write to Moi Foundation and request a sponsorship. That seemed like a long shot to me,” she narrated.

She was admitted to a Catholic university through the help of a local church and met a friend whose father was a close acquaintance of Moi.

The friend organised for her to meet Moi and she shared her plight after waiting for two years and dropping out of school. Moi promised to take care of her and her education.

"I told him what had happened in my life since my mother died and how desperately I needed assistance to return to school because it was the only hope for me and my younger sister. He gave instructions for me to be taken care of,” Njoroge added.

However, life took an unexpected turn and she did not complete her education then.

Later on, when she had been appointed by former president Uhuru Kenyatta to his communications office during his first term to work in the social media department, she decided to go back to school.

While at Jubilee, she met a friend who gave her Ksh100,00 to fund her studies at Mount Kenya University and graduated in 2018.

“He gave me Ksh100,000 right there and told me to go register for the next month’s intake at the Mount Kenya University which he knew we could afford. I was admitted and the next month I started school. By God’s grace by the third semester, I could manage by myself and didn’t have to depend on anyone for school fees,” she added.

She remained faithful to the Jubilee party and was appointed Deputy Organising Secretary for the party on Monday, May 22, 2023.

"Thank you my party leader Honourable Uhuru Kenyatta for entrusting me with this position. Thank you Jubilee Party members for your support. I commit to serve diligently and faithfully alongside other members of the National Executive Committee (NEC)," she stated celebrating her appointment.
