State House Announces Mass Auction of Vehicles; How to Bid

State House on Tuesday, May 30, announced plans to carry out a mass auction of vehicles, tyres and scrap metal.

In a notice published by State House Comptroller, Katoo Ole Metito, the office of the President added that car batteries and lawnmowers would also be auctioned in the exercise set for Friday, June 16.

The auction will be conducted at the State Department for Roads in Ruiru.

In readiness for the exercise, Astorion Auctioneers was appointed as the auctioneer.

"The Executive Office of The President – State House intends to sell through Public Auction Unserviceable Motor Vehicles, Tyres, Batteries, Lawn Mowers and Assorted Scrap Metal on  June 2023 starting at 10 am at the State Department for Roads, Ruiru," read the notice in part.

How to Bid
To participate in the June 16 auction, interested bidders will have to part with a refundable deposit of Ksh50,000.

Interested bidders were also advised to make the payment at the cash office at the Executive Office of The President – State House in Nairobi.

President William Ruto's office also indicated that the catalogue and the viewing dates of the vehicles could be accessed through the official presidential website.

However, the prices of motor vehicles and the make of the motor vehicles were not included.

"Interested bidders may obtain further information by visiting www.president.go.ke and www.tenders.go.ke to download a catalogue containing details of the venue, items to be auctioned, conditions of sale and date of viewing," read the notice in part.

For further clarification on the public auction, bidders were encouraged to seek information from the Astorion Auctioneers through 0720797118 and 0721963927.

An attendant at the office of the State House Comptroller was also chosen to respond to queries of the bidders through 0710847948.
