The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on Monday, July 10, shared an updated list of qualified and certified electricians in the country.

According to EPRA, property owners have a chance to avoid possible disasters by acquiring the services of qualified electricians whose knowledge has been tested by government agencies.

Here are the steps on how to verify an electrician's qualifications or access a complete list of registered electricians on the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) website:

1. Go to the EPRA website: ww.epra.go.ke/electricity

2. Click on the "Registered Electrical Contractors" link.

3. Enter the electrician's name or registration number in the search bar.

4. Click on the "Search" button.

If the electrician is registered with EPRA, their name and registration number will appear in the search results. You can also view their qualifications and experience.

If the electrician is not registered with EPRA, you will not see their name or registration number in the search results.

Here are some other ways to verify an electrician's qualifications:

Ask the electrician for their proof of qualification. This could be a certificate of completion from an apprenticeship program, a diploma from a trade school, or a license from a state or local government agency.

Check with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The BBB can provide you with information about an electrician's business practices and customer satisfaction ratings.

Get references from previous customers. Ask the electrician for the names and contact information of previous customers who have used their services.

It is important to verify an electrician's qualifications before hiring them to work on your electrical system. This will help to ensure that the work is done safely and correctly.
