“Young girls, I want all of you to work very hard. All the work this government is doing is because we love you. I was once a student the same way you all are today. As we invest in you, be careful to invest in yourself by making sure you do the right thing," President Ruto remarked.

"If you do your homework, stay disciplined, if you work hard, respect your teachers and parents, then the future is limitless. You can be greater than the men and women sitting here today,” he added.

President William Ruto said he was looking forward to a great performance from the Mugoiri 2023 class in the upcoming national examinations and would visit the school again to assess the improvement himself.

The President was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other Kenya Kwanza leaders including CS Education, Ezekiel Machogu, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw'a, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua seized the opportunity to criticise the ongoing Azimio protests calling out the opposition leaders for spearheading the demonstrations that have led to the destruction of property and loss of life.

“The only route to government is only one - the ballot box. And that brings an end to that chapter, and so we ask for those guys to go back on the drawing board and prepare for 2027,” Gachagua stated.

President William Ruto finally led in awarding the school’s top performers as they marked their annual prize giving ceremony.

Tradition

President Ruto has taken from where his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta left. The two leaders are huge advocates for quality education and gifted buses to schools across the country during their time in office.

However, the difference between the two is that Ruto has been more generous with cash donations.

Earlier this month, President William Ruto also gifted Oriwo Boys High School a new school bus during the thanksgiving ceremony of Interior Principal Secretary, Raymond Omollo.

Moreover, in May 2023, the president delivered goodies to Limuru Secondary School, among them a new school bus. During the event, the president noted the school's huge population and vowed to send them another bus.

Later during the day on Friday, July 21, the Head of State gifted Murang'a High School Ksh 10 Million and a bus to aid their operations.
