President William Ruto, on Friday, August 18, made more changes to key government institutions and kicked out his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta's appointees.
Among the government employees sent home were Ambassador Zachary Maburi Mwita, who was serving as the Chairperson of the Board of Management of Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).
Mwita was replaced by Joseah Kiplangat Cheruiyot, who was appointed to serve for a term of three years.
Other KMTC board members, Naomi Kathure Mutua, Stephen Ochiel, Jennifer Kibagendi and Fredrick Wamwaki were also ejected and replaced by Paul Cheboi, Eunice Karanja, Hardlyne Lusui, and Joseph Atonga.
Likewise, Ruto also made changes to the Kenya National Public Health Institute, where David Nyokabi replaced Gerald Macharia as the non-executive chairperson for a term of three years.
Conversely, Kadhua Kahindi replaced Chris Kirubi's son-in-law Andrew Musangi as the Public Procurement Regulatory Board Chairperson.
However, unlike other Uhuru allies, the revocation of Musangi's was informed by his latest nomination as the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) chairperson.
Should Musangi's nomination by Ruto be approved by Parliament, he will serve on the CBK board for a period of four years.
Ministerial Changes
Various Cabinet Secretaries also revoked the appointment of various persons made in the past administration. For instance, Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung’u replaced three board members of the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA).
Mwai Kihu, Grace Tole, Njoroge Nganga and Peter Kanyua were replaced by Benson Rono Benhard, Samuel Mkonu, Joyce Mutegi, and Rebecca Osogo.
At the Public Procurement Regulatory Board, the Treasury CS also revoked the appointment of Paul Otieno, Godfrey Kyalo Makau, Lydia Gachoya and Allyce Esintele. They were replaced by Patrick Ndirangu, Lucy Chepkemoi, Amos Makokha, and Ali Haji.
On the other hand, Energy CS Davis Chirchir made changes to the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited board by revoking the appointment of Kenneth Wathome, Elsie Mbugua, Jimmy Shiganga, Caroline Mugendi and Frank Ireri.
The five were changed Edward Musebe, Irene Wachira, Mutungwa Wambua, Jane Njeri Mwangi, and Joyce Emanikor, who will serve on the board for a period of three years.
