"Radio presenter Alex Mwakideu is set to join Cape Media-owned Swahili radio station Radio47 this coming Monday, August 28," read the announcement in part.

The announcement by the media company comes days after he retracted news of his departure from the station that is owned by Media Max.

At the time, Mwakideu indicated that he retracted the statement of his departure after the Milele FM management recalled him for another round of talks.

"Yooh, bado niko Milele FM. Kumbe munanipenda hivi... aaawwweeee... (Yooh, I am still at Milele FM. You supporters love me this much.)," stated the presenter.

"Thank you for all the phone calls and text messages. We had a small misunderstanding, which has been sorted. So we are now good to go!"

At Milele FM the radio journalist was hosting the morning show alongside Jacquey Nyaminde alias Wilbroda.

Mwakideu is among journalists who have joined Cape Media-owned station in recent days as they seek to revamp the station and make a name for themselves in the industry.

He will be joining former Citizen TV journalist Willis Raburu who will be joining TV47 today.
