EX-Nation Editor Njoki Chege Returns to Media as CEO After 4 Years

Former Nation Lifestyle editor Njoki Chege has been appointed the CEO of Kirk Media which owns Kirk TV.

In a statement, the TV station announced that Chege will be assuming her new role from October 1 and will be tasked with steering the growth of the media station.

Following her appointment Chege will be making a comeback to active media after taking a break in 2019.

"We are delighted to share a pivotal moment in the journey of Kirk TV. It is with great pleasure that we introduce our newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Dr Njoki Chege, who will guide us into a future defined by inspiration, innovation, and impact," read the statement in part.

"Her appointment signifies a significant juncture for Kirk TV, promising growth and transformation under her capable leadership."

On her part, the PhD holder expressed optimism over return adding that she was looking forward to taking the station to the next level.

"After a four-year break from the media industry, I am happy to share that I will be taking on a new and exciting role at Kirk Tv Kenya. Looking forward to working with all of you!" she stated.

Chege left active media in June 2019 before joining the Aga Khan University as the Director of the Innovation Centre. She held the position from July 2019 to September 2022.

Prior to that, she served as a print journalist at Nation between 2013 to 2019 before her promotion to editor.

Chege also worked as a journalist at Standard Media Group for three years from 2010.

In terms of her academic qualifications, the newly appointed CEO holds a Master's degree and a PhD in Communication and Media Studies from Daystar University.

The journalist also studied for her undergraduate from Daystar University where she attained a degree in Communication and Media Studies.
