25-year-old Joshua Belet has won the 47th edition of the Amsterdam Marathon after clocking 2:04:18.

Sunday's race held in Amsterdam, Netherlands saw several elite athletes battle it out in the cold streets.
It was a clean sweep for Kenya as Cybrian Kotut finished second 16 seconds behind Belet recording a time of 2:04:34.

The winner Joshua Belet broke the race open at the 30-kilometer mark, accelerating at a pace that was hard for the rest to keep up.
All eyes were on Ethiopia's Birhanu Legese and Kenya's Bernard Koech who were touted as the favourites.
However, Legese finished fourth recording a time of 2:04:44, a few seconds behind Kenya's Chumba.
Meanwhile, Koech was unable to complete the race, limping out halfway, in what could be a possible injury.
