Nairobi residents have expressed concerns after CCTV footage emerged capturing two robbers breaking into a car parked outside a shopping mall in Nairobi during the day and made away with several items.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the two robbers are depicted making their way to the shopping mall's entrance and alighting from a white vehicle before one of them proceeds to make a call.

Following this, the duo begins breaking into a car parked next to theirs unwary of the glaring cameras.

The thieves could also be seen using their car's door to block people from seeing them staging the robbery.

The thieves can then be seen stealing several items from the car and stuffing the property in their vehicle's trunk before making it away.

Unverified information indicates that the incident occurred outside a popular shopping mall in Nairobi West.

However, the thieves are likely to be tracked down soon since the CCTV footage captured the vehicle's registration number as the burglars escaped from the scene.

The incident which took place in broad daylight, according to the CCTV timestamp, has elicited reactions from Kenyans.

This comes at a time when Nairobi residents have complained about an increase in robberies within the capital.

In June this year, CCTV cameras captured a gang of three as they broke into multiple houses, stealing valuable items of an undisclosed value.

The trio first targeted a vehicle parked outside a residential property, swiftly seizing the opportunity to steal the valuables left unattended in the car.

Similarly, in September, 3 armed men were captured by a CCTV camera robbing a couple outside their home in Runda Estate, Thika Town, Kiambu County.
