The daughter of Nairobi-based businessman, Joseph Ndegwa Kamau, has revealed details of a phone call the family received on the day her father was abducted at a carwash at Kayole Junction along Kangundo Road.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Saturday, Cynthia Kamau stated that her father had signed a deal with a businessman who wanted his money refunded.

According to the daughter, the deal may have revolved around the purchase of a plot in Kitengelea, Kajiado County, as her father was a renowned land seller.

Both contributed Ksh350,000 each, but the businessman opted out of the deal and asked for a refund.

"The businessman called demanding the amount on that Thursday that Kamau (the father) went missing," she noted.

Per her account, the family returned the Ksh350,000 on Thursday, October 19, through his lawyer. However, the trader was yet to collect his money, further compounding the mystery around the case.

The businessman also reportedly went into hiding following her father's abduction.

Cynthia urged anyone with the information to report to the nearest police station and assist the family in tracing their father.

This case has attracted significant public interest for the past two weeks since Kamau's abduction occurred at a carwash at Kayole Junction along Kangundo Road.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 12.

According to the missing person's poster on social media platforms, Kamau was picked up by four armed men driving a white double cabin.

At the time, he had visited the car wash to meet business associates and have his car cleaned. The armed men abducted and bundled him into their car and sped off.

The family reported a missing persons case at Kayole Police Station.
