King Charles III arrived in the country on October 31, 2023, marking his first visit to a commonwealth country since his coronation on May 6.

His Majesty, who was accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Camilla, embarked on various engagements across the country, from being officially received at State House, Nairobi, to laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior at Uhuru Gardens to gracing a State Banquet. 

For one of the most guarded and scrutinized leaders in the world, his lifestyle, attire, food, itinerary and media appearance are well-planned. 

His Majesty, raised at Buckingham Palace in the UK, is said to prioritize bringing home comforts on his list of travel necessities.

King Charles III's routine entails a regimented daily schedule and specific personal preferences, earning him the title of 'Pampered Prince' among the staff who worked for him.

The documentary Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm unveiled some intriguing details about King Charles III, one of which was his love for ironed shoelaces, as disclosed by Paul Burrell, who once served as a butler to the late Princess Diana.

Princess Diana, the King's first wife, passed away on 31 August 1997 in Paris, France. 

According to the documentary, King Charles prefers his bath plug to be in a certain position as preferred by him additionally, the water temperature has to be slightly heated and the bathtub half full.

"His pyjamas are pressed every morning, his shoelaces are pressed flat with an iron, the bath plug has to be in a certain position, and the water temperature has to be just tepid," in a bathtub filled "only half full"," Burrell stated. 

The King's meals are not excluded from his preferred routine as he sticks and a personalised breakfast. He reportedly loves a healthy start to the day with more fruits. 

He also loves homemade bread, a bowl of fresh fruit, and fresh fruit juice, and always carries his breakfast box wherever he travels in the world. Additionally, he selects different varieties of honey, and for his dinner, he likes cheese and biscuits, which must be heated at a certain temperature. 

Reports further allege that his valets squeeze one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush before he brushes his teeth. 

Other facts about the King are that he is a qualified pilot and can fly a jet and helicopter, skills that he learned while serving in the military. He is also an expert diver.

He is also multilingual and can speak up to four languages fluently, including English, Welsh, French, and German, according to The Sun.

Renowned investigative journalist Tom Bower once alleged that His Majesty also travels with his own toilet seat. However, in an interview on Australian radio in 2018, the King dismissed the reports, as reported by Daily Mail

"My own what? Oh, don't believe all that c**p," he answered. 

"Don't you believe that!" Queen Camilla, who was also at the interview with the King, added. 

Among the officials who travel with the King are a butler, two valets, a chef, a private secretary, a typist and bodyguards.
