Former KTN sports news Anchor Ahmed Bahajj has joined BBC Swahili after a four-month stint at TV47.
In a statement dated Thursday, the journalist revealed that he had left TV47 and was joining BBC Swahili as a new anchor.
Bahajj added that he was going to be hosting the Dira ya Dunia show.
The sports journalist expressed that he was looking forward to his new assignment adding that he was focusing on maximising on his new experience at the international media platform.
"I never tired of cheering for my colleagues when they were blessed. Today, it is my turn as my dreams have come true. I am officially joining BBC Swahili TV," he stated.
"I am a testimony to all the youth. Nothing is impossible. Believe in yourself and you will succeed."
Following the news, various journalists including his former colleague Linda Ogutu took time to congratulate the Swahili new anchor on actualising his dream.
Bahajj joined TV47 in June as the station based in Kiambu Road was rebranding itself and launching new studios.
He also served as the Swahili Sports editor during the four months.
Notably, his exit comes weeks after his co-host at TV47, Mwanaisha Chidzuga left the station following her appointment as the Deputy Government Spokesperson.
Bahajj will be joining notable journalists at BBC including former Citizen TV anchor Waihiga Mwaura and Kelvin Kimathi.
