Education Principal Secretary, Belio Kipsang has adjusted the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exam release date to allow the government to prepare for the placement of the candidates in high schools.

Kipsang, who spoke at Naivasha Girls High School during an inspection tour at the school to monitor the ongoing KCSE examinations, assured candidates that their results will be out by November 30, 2023.

The ministry was set to announce the results before Christmas in its earlier communique.

“2023 KCPE results to be released by November 30 to allow for secondary schools’ placement and to aid parents in readying school fees,” the PS revised the dates.

"It will also give parents ample time to prepare for school fees amid harsh economic times," he added.

KCPE and KPSEA exams began on October 30, 2023, and were completed on November 1, 2023.

At least 1,415,315 candidates sat for the KCPE exams and are waiting for the results, whereas 1,282,574 candidates sat for their KPSEA assessments.

The KCPE exam was the last to be conducted in the country 38 years after its inception as the country transitions to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Meanwhile, Form 4 candidates are currently undertaking their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) national exams, which started on October 23 and will end on November 24.

During his tour of Naivasha Girls, PS Kipsang lauded the measures put in to curb exam irregularities, including the double collection of KCSE exam scripts.

The PS was accompanied by Nakuru County Director of Education, Victoria Mulili, Subcounty Deputy Commissioner Kisilu Mutua and the principal of the school, Rose Mwangi.
