Ombeta complained that the officers claimed that they did not know the whereabouts of the lady. The lawyer questioned how that was possible considering that she presented herself at DCI headquarters.

According to DCI detectives, the businesswoman left after recording her statement with the detectives.

Ombeta revealed that her phone had been switched off and a search party for her had not yielded any fruits.

According to reports, the detectives were seeking to determine how she was able to import such a huge amount.

"No one can trace her and her phone is off. The officers claim they don't know anything about her and she has not been presented before any court 24 hours later," the lawyer complained

According to the lawyer, the businesswoman was aware of the regulations and guidelines put in place for the importation of fuel.

Ombeta revealed that the lady partnered with other individuals who had permits to import.

The lady runs her company and has been an industry player for over 33 years.

Ombeta further claimed that the lady had complied with all requirements before importing the oil into the country.
