Over the years, Kenya has remained a travel destination for millions of tourists across the globe due to its wildlife and exotic beach resorts.
This year, it was once again ranked among Africa's top ten most beautiful countries because of its diversity, unforgettable experiences, and spectacular scenes.
In the ranking done by Travel and Leisure Magazine, a US publication, Kenya was described as a wildlife haven, especially due to the great wildebeest migration.
Safari's in Kenya also contributed to earning the East African country a spot in the top ten. Parks like Masai Mara Game Reserve and Amboseli National Park were listed as areas to view lions, cheetahs, and rhinos.
According to the magazine, January and February were the best months to visit. It also advised visitors to purchase souvenirs at the numerous curio shops, including Maasai beads, Kitengela glass, shukas, kikoi, and khanga.
"Beyond nature's wonders, explore the vibrant cultures of the Maasai, Kikuyu, and Swahili people, celebrated for their rich traditions," read part of the magazine's feature.
Additionally, the capital city, Nairobi, was praised for standing out alongside other major landscapes in the country, including freshwater lakes, lush forests, the Indian Ocean coastline, and the Great Rift Valley. Nairobi is the capital city with a national park in it.
Besides Kenya, other nations that made it to the list include Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Tanzania, Malawi, Madagascar, Namibia, South Africa, and Zambia.
"Embark on a remarkable journey through some of Africa's most enchanting countries, a continent steeped in rich history and natural wonders. Beyond its stunning scenery, Africa extends warm hospitality, offering a fascinating glimpse into diverse cultures, languages, and cuisines," stated the magazine.
Some of the major attractions on the list were Victoria Falls in Zambia, Etosha National Park in Namibia, Avenue of the Baobabs in Madagascar, Liwonde National Park in Malawi, Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, the Atlas Mountains in Tunisia, and the Pyramid of Giza and the Sphinx in Egypt.
Travel and Leisure further revealed the best time to travel in the listed areas, including July to November for East Africa, October to March for West Africa, March to May and September to November for North Africa, and May and September for South Africa.
