The National Youth Service (NYS) has flagged a poster advertising a recruitment drive targeting individuals seeking job opportunities in Israel.
In a statement shared on its social platforms on Wednesday, NYS warned Kenyans against falling victim to the scam.
The poster highlighted the registration process and requirements for interested applicants to share their documents in the email provided.
It also had logos of various local and international advertising agencies strategically crafted to convey the illusion of an authentic advertisement.
NYS flagged the poster, noting that all abroad and local job opportunities are processed through the Office of the Director General NYS.
"The information carried by this poster is fake and you are all warned against it. Report any number sharing this information to us or the nearest police station," NYS warned.
It is the norm for fraudsters to prey on vulnerable Kenyans who are desperately seeking job opportunities to fleece them.
Further, such incidents have been on the rise, underscoring the challenging economic conditions faced by Kenyans due to the escalating cost of living.
In a bid to alleviate the situation, President William Ruto recently noted that his administration was keen on securing foreign jobs for Kenyans.
After numerous trips globally, Ruto claimed that he secured over 350,000 jobs in Gulf countries to help address the unemployment crisis.
Recently, the head of state also directed all Kenyans seeking to go abroad to undergo training at NYS.
He noted that the move would help jobseekers understand the nature of the job and the demands that come with the working environment.
