Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi on Wednesday surprised his daughter Faith Chemutai with gifts after she graduated from the University of Kent, Canterbury, in the United Kingdom.

During the colourful ceremony held at their home in Kapseret, the MP gifted his daughter a vehicle and an apartment in Nairobi.

According to Sudi, the two gifts will help his daughter get a head start in life. He added that he was a proud father who was moved by his daughter's successes.

"It has been an arduous journey for my daughter Faith Chemutai throughout her academic life. Friends, family, and neighbours joined us today as we celebrate her success story at home," he stated.

According to the MP, the future of the country can only be improved by empowering children through education.

Sudi was thrilled at the great milestone his daughter had achieved, especially in a foreign land. While his daughter was travelling to the UK, Sudi advised her to show respect and be open with him.

He revealed that her daughter graduated with a first degree in 2023 before embarking on the master's.

The MP also announced that his daughter was fortunate to get a job in London, adding, "I want to congratulate you. I had told her I had a gift for her as my firstborn who has done me proud."

He advised his daughter to follow in his footsteps and exceed his success. He also extended the advice to his other children, urging them to be faithful in their line of work.

Additionally, Sudi also encouraged parents to be present in their children's lives and guide them accordingly to protect them from suspicious members of the public.

The ceremony was graced by World Record holder Eliud Kipchoge, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, and former presidential aspirant Rueben Kagame, among other leaders.

"You are welcome and I wanted to tell these children, to put in the effort. Listen and obey your parents, this world is full of many things," he remarked.

Kipchoge also gifted Sudi a pair of sneakers after the ceremony.
