2023 KCSE Results: How Top Schools Performed

Various schools across the country posted sterling performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations with predominant academic giants leading the park.

Among the schools that registered a mean score of 10 and above included Kabarak High School and Kapsabet Boys High School, which had 10.4 and 10.2, respectively.

62 students at Kabarak High School scored A, with 155 students scoring A minus (A-). 102 students scored a B+, 60 B plain, 18 B-, and 4 C+.

Other schools that had a mean grade of 10 were Mudasa Academy in Vihiga County, with 10.4, and Light Academy in Mombasa County (10.2).

In TransNzoia County, Segero Adventist School emerged as one of the top-performing schools in the 2023 examinations, with a mean score of 9.9.

Baricho High School in Kirinyaga County posted a mean score of 9.2 with over 400 students getting the university entry mean grade of C+ and above.

Other schools with a mean score of 9 were Starehe Boys Center (9.5), Friends School Kamusinga (9.3), Lugulu Girls High School (9.3), Kagumo High School (9.3), Butula Boys High School (9.2) and Butere Girls High School (9.1).

Bunyore Girls High School in Vihiga County had a mean score of 9.1, Lenana School (9.0) and St Francis Rang'ala at 9.0.

Mean Score of 8

Among the schools that had a mean score of 8 were Kisii School (8.95), Makueni Boys High School (8.91), Precious Blood Riruta (8.8), St Mary's Girls Igonji (8.8) and Nanyuki Boys at (8.8).

Other schools in this category were St Peter's Boys Mumias High School (8.5), Agoro Sare Boys High School (8.5), Nyabururu Girls National School (8.4), Baringo High School (8.3), Chavakali High school (8.1) and Kaaga Girls High School (8.1).

Schools that had a mean grade of 8.0 were Sironga National School, Ikuu Boys High School, Kyeni Girls High School and Kenyatta High School Mwatate.

Meanwhile, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has cautioned members of the public against a viral poster ranking schools. According to the education body, the institution does not rank schools anymore.
