Philanthropic Tinderet MP Julius Biwot has been widely lauded after he transformed the life of a mother who went viral for participating in a marathon race while only wearing a skirt and a bra.

Three days ago, Milka Menjo, a mother of one who hails from Nandi, caught the attention of many Kenyans after participating in a 12-kilometer marathon while half-dressed, instead of the usual athlete's kits.

She was part of a group of dedicated athletes who participated in the race held at Barng'etuny Mountain.

After her image went viral, the lawmaker offered to meet the lady and gifted her a full running kit, promising to build her a house.

"We finally located Mrs. Milka Menjo, a mother of one child aged 1 year from Cherondo village Soba Songhor Ward," the lawmaker remarked.

Biwot, while congratulating Milka for beating the odds despite the trolls, invited her alongside her husband to his home.

“Today I invited her and her husband, Josphat, to my home where I congratulated her for passionately participating in the 12kms Senior women's race despite all the challenges,” Biwot added.

Following the couple's visit to the MP's home, the legislator surprised the lovers with rewards, including the construction of a 3-bedroom house for the couple.

He also bought a cow for the family and vowed to donate coffee seedlings for planting so that they can earn a living out of the produce.

"The Tinderet Barng'etuny Mountain Run was not just a run, it brought out the great talent within our land," the legislator noted.

“We will also continue supporting her passion for athletics. Thank you to everyone who highlighted her through various platforms."

The Barng'etuny Mountain run was graced by several high-profile politicians including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Meanwhile, Fredrick Domongole and Sharon Jerotich bagged the men's and women's titles respectively.
