Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya on Saturday broke silence hours after being arrested for assaulting a fellow politician.
While venting his frustrations over the arrest which he termed as unwarranted, the MP questioned why no one has ever been arrested for attacking him despite what he described as him regularly being targeted when he makes similar moves.
“This is the fourth time this vehicle has been stoned and me being attacked but no single individual has ever been arrested and questioned why ...when God is still on my side," Salasya lamented.
"I will continue to forgive them 70×70 times,” he added.
Salasya taking to his social media pages, shared a photo of his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with a broken rear windshield which he claimed was damaged by goons sent to attack him.
Narrating his ordeal at the hands of the police during a public gathering, the embattled MP noted he was made to sleep on a bare floor with no mattress or blanket.
“Am currently on the ground, though I was made to sleep inside a cell without anything, no mattress no blanket no nothing,” he stated.
On Friday, the legislator was arrested and detained at the Shianda Police Station for attacking Malaha Member of County Assembly Peter Walunya at a funeral in Kakamega.
Salasya had been granted a chance to address the mourners and console the deceased's family when he identified Walunya who was attempting to call him out over alleged lack of decorum while addressing mourners.
Aggrieved by the situation, the furious lawmaker shouted down the MCA before going ahead to slap him in the full glare of cameras.
The MP was charged with assaulting and causing actual bodily harm and creating a disturbance in a manner that breached section 95 (1) of the penal code.
He was later released on a KSh50,000 cash bail but is expected to appear in court on Monday, January 15.
