A post-mortem examination conducted on the body of Charles Waga, a rapper who reportedly fell from the fifth floor of a building in Riruta area, Nairobi County, has not established the cause of the 25-year-old's death.
The examination, conducted on Waga's body by a private pathologist, showed that he had multiple fractures on the head and also suffered from internal bleeding.
Initially, preliminary investigations revealed that the victim jumped off the fifth floor to his death.
However, the results did not provide the exact cause of death, with findings leading to various possibilities that could have led to Waga's demise.
"On the final report I can't comment because we don't know the findings on what could have led to his death, whether he was pushed, what he consumed in the house or something like that," the pathologist stated.
Waga, who worked at a car wash on Naivasha Road, off Ngong Road, reportedly fell from the fifth floor of an apartment while delivering a carpet to one of his clients at a nearby building.
According to one of Waga's colleagues, the deceased conversed with him before delivering the carpet, indicating that it would be a normal routine.
"He did some finishing touches on the carpet and stated that he had gone to deliver the carpet to the Nigerians," the colleague stated.
"30 minutes later, I was contacted by a neighbour who stated that one of our guys fell from the apartment. Upon arrival, we found his body already moved from the crime scene and into a car," he added.
Waga was rushed to the emergency room of a private hospital facility and efforts to resuscitate him were futile as he passed away.
The victim's phone was retrieved in a janitor's room where he left it to charge revealing that he had received Ksh400 as opposed to Ksh800 charged for the carpet service. Waga's colleague speculated that the price negotiations for the carpet service could have led to an altercation.
"He had left his phone to charge in the janitor's room. We found that he had been sent Ksh400 and the price for the service was Ksh800, so we don't know what happened," his friend remarked.
Additionally, police officers found his clothing including; pants, slippers, a beanie (marvin), and an earring, in the hallway leading to the house where he'd gone to deliver the carpet.
Waga's family believes that the earring belongs to the suspect as it did not belong to the victim.
"We pray that the police expedite the investigations to unravel what happened," one of Waga's friends stated.
Four Nigerians have since been arrested in connection with Waga's death.
