2024 KUCCPS Application; How to Apply Degree, Diploma & Certificate Courses

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on Thursday, January 8, opened an applications portal for students willing to apply for degree, diploma and certificate courses in universities and colleges. 

According to KUCCPS while the application primarily targets 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) students, form four leavers from 2000 to 2022 will also be eligible to apply. 

“The online KUCCPS application portal is open for placement of students to: Universities, TVET institutions, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Teachers Training Colleges (TTCs), and Open University of Kenya (OUK),” KUCCPS revealed.

Students have been asked to apply via the student's portal www.student.kuccps.net 

The portal will be open until  February 20, 2024, with students encouraged to make early applications. 

Once on the student portal, learners will be prompted to enter KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year and Password. 

Students have been advised to use the Birth Certificate Number or KCPE Number (as used in KCSE Exam Registration) as the initial password. 

There are 39 public universities that are eligible for government scholarships and a Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) loan. 

Noteworthy, students who choose courses offered at private universities will be eligible for HELB loans only. 

There are 237 public colleges and according to KUCCPS, students who apply for diploma courses in those institutions will be eligible for Government Scholarships and HELB loans. 

Courses offered for KCSE students include; degree, diploma, certificate and artisan (level 4 programmes). The degree certificates are a reserved for students who scored C+ and above.
