Police officers on Monday, March 25, revealed the identity of another suspect involved in the murder of Dagoretti Deputy Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer Felix Kelian Kintosi.

During the hearing application before Kibera Magistrate Margaret Murage, lead prosecutor in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) Fredrick Kosen confirmed that one of the suspects in DJ Joe Mfalme's crew escaped during the time of the arrest and is still at large.

He highlighted that the police officers require time to acquire CCTV footage from the scene and verify the sequence of events.

Additionally, he mentioned that the prosecutor will need additional time to gather statements from pertinent witnesses to construct a robust case.

He noted that a mental examination would be needed before the investigations proceed.

"I also intend to take the accused to Mama Lucy Hospital for mental assessment and forward the investigation file to the DPP for determination of appropriate charge to be preferred against them," Kosen noted.

Mfalme, along with three other employees allegedly involved in the altercation, appeared in court. Additionally, three police officers from Kikuyu Police Station were also arraigned.

During the proceedings, the DJ asserted that he was not a flight risk, citing prior contractual obligations to perform during the Easter weekend.

He expressed willingness to cooperate with investigators and requested bail from the court.

After reviewing the evidence, Magistrate Murage ordered the suspects to be remanded in custody for 14 days to enable the police to conclude their investigations.

Reports indicate that the deceased was involved in an altercation with DJ Mfalme and his crew after he hit their vehicle.

The officer is said to have been beaten by the suspects and frogmatched to Kikuyu Police Station. Following the incident, the officer complained of abdominal pains and passing blood while urinating.

He was admitted to a local Nairobi Hospital and passed away five days later.
