A 28-year-old woman was on Tuesday, April 2, arrested over allegations of stabbing her husband, an elite unit police officer multiple times at their matrimonial home in Baringo County.

According to a police report obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, Vincent Kiprotich was on pass leave to spend time with his family.

Kiprotich was attached to the Special Operation Group (SOG) at Wargadud in Mandera County.

The border patrol SOG team is one of the highly trained units within the Administration Police Service.

These officers undergo specialised training and are deployed at border points and terror-prone areas such as the North Eastern region.

However, an argument ensued between the officer and his wife, which led to an altercation that turned physical.

Hours later, the report indicated that the victim's brother visited him and found his body lying on the floor with multiple cut wounds.

Further, blood stains were splattered on the floor and walls of their bedroom.

The brother contacted his brother's colleagues who rushed to the scene and rushed him to a local hospital in Eldama Ravine.

Despite the intervention, the officer succumbed to blood loss while undergoing medication.

The Sub-County Police Commander Koibatek, CIPU (Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit) Commander, area Officer Commanding Station (OCS) and officers attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) visited the hospital to establish the occurrence of events.

Further, they visited the crime scene and sealed the entire house as investigations were launched. Among the items recovered include a blood-stained panga, suspected to be the murder weapon.

The police report revealed that the victim's wife was arrested in her hideout, 6 kilometres from Esageri Police Station in Baringo.
