Police are holding in custody a man suspected to be an Al Shabaab operative, arrested after he went making suspicious inquiries at Kenya Medical Training College -Lodwar, Turkana County.
The man is said to have gone asking a student about the number of Muslims in the institution, claiming the question was based on an upcoming Ramadhan Fundraiser.
Students at the college however raised alarm and the suspect, Evans Osman Kipkosgei Chemelei was arrested.
No identification was found on Chemelei who claims he passed up the opportunity to get a National Identity card after officials declined to include his Muslim name in the document.
Investigations into the matter continue.
