Alfred Keter Quits Jubilee Party

Nandi Hills Member of Parliament (MP) Alfred Keter on Wednesday announced he had quit the recently launched Jubilee Party leaving behind a stern warning.

The MP cited “too much corruption in the government” declaring that he was not willing to associate with the ruling coalition.

Keter, who has been an ardent critic of the government, accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto of abetting the vice which he said was slowly eating away the country's economy.

"Anyone you see supporting Jubilee is either stupid or corrupt. The other name of Jubilee is corruption and you cannot describe corruption in Kenya without calling it Jubilee. I mean Jubilee and corruption are one and the same,” he was quoted by the Star.

The MP warned that it was time to send the Jubilee coalition packing assuring that he would defend his seat on a different party or as an independent candidate.

“We should now be talking about their replacement with someone who will help Kenyans because definitely it’s not Uhuru and Ruto. They have not done anything for this country,” he stated.

According the legislator, top government officials had been fleecing the economy and using the money to establish businesses in foreign countries.

He blamed the country's top leadership for failing to provide the guidance and goodwill to fight the menace.

The MP has on several occasions been labeled as a rebel for disagreeing with the government given that he hails from a Jubilee stronghold.
