Angry Kayole Residents Block Kidero's Motorcade over Poor Roads

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero was on Tuesday forced to flee and cut short his visit to Kayole area after he was accosted by angry residents.

Kidero had gone to inspect road projects in the area when a group of rowdy youth confronted him, accusing him of failing to deliver basic services.

The governor’s motorcade was blocked at the Soweto-Riverbank Road, while they chanted “No road, no peace”.

The youth challenged Kidero to show them the roads he was inspecting and after a while, the Governor addressed them.

He acknowledged their message and promised that the contractor would be called to the site at the soonest time.

The Nairobi county boss was, however, forced to cut short his visit and head to other areas in Embakasi including Njiru, KCC village, and Mowlem Health Centre.

Kidero accused Jubilee leaders of undermining him based on his tribe, adding that he was willing to change his name to Kariuki for him to be accepted.
