Angry Youth Heckle DP Ruto and Local Leaders During Rally in Narok County

Deputy President William Ruto’s meeting in Narok County was disrupted on Thursday after angry youth heckled him and other leaders who had accompanied him.

Trouble began when Narok Woman Representative Soipan Ole Kudate and Sogoo Member of County Assembly (MCA) Moses Cheruyoit attempted to address the gathering, prompting the crowd to turn hostile.

This compelled Ruto to take over as the Master of Ceremony (MC) but the youth still shouted at him claiming the Jubilee administration had done little for them.

The DP finally managed to calm down the crowd and asked the residents to turn out and register in large numbers.

However, the residents told Ruto that they were being asked to pay Sh300 by officers to be issued with IDs.

In return, Ruto directed the County Commissioner Moffat Kangi to probe the matter and arrest the culprits.

After normalcy had been restored, Ruto invited some leaders who were present including Governor Samuel ole Tunai to address the locals.

The residents also presented one Mr Julius Kibenei to tell the DP the problems they were encountering in the area.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy are moving across the country urging locals in areas perceived to be key strongholds to register in large numbers.
