A few days after the Huruma tragedy, a section of a six storey building collapsed on Monday morning in Nyali, Mombasa County.
According to police officers, no one was injured when the section that had been joined onto the rest of the Nyali Centre came down at around 4am.
County Urban Planning Executive Francis Thoya stated that other parts of the premises, which house Java House, a Boxing Lounge and several banks, had been closed.
Business owners were restricted from accessing the building as police surrounded the ill-fated property.
Officials are set to inspect the structure while a search for the engineers and contractors who did a "shoddy job" commenced.
The incident happens slightly over a week after another six storey building crumbled in Huruma, Nairobi, with 51 people confirmed dead while 19 others remain missing.
