Anxiety is said to have engulfed a section of ODM supporters following rumours that Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyong'o had been taken ill.
Reports spreading on social media had raised concerns over the health of Prof. Nyong'o causing panic among his supporters.
Some of the area residents are said to have made sustained phone calls questioning about the Senator's health including some who even called to ask whether he was alive.
Nyong'o, who is set to vie for Kisumu gubernatorial seat, has however dispelled the reports terming them as malicious and reckless.
He stated that he had equally been bothered by the reports since friends and families had also been calling him to ask about his health.
At the same time, he warned people against spreading such alarming and dangerous messages especially as the August 8 General Election approaches.
"People should stop these malicious and yellow propaganda, I have been ignoring them since 2013. I do not understand the cause of these rumours. They are very reckless and unless someone wants to poison me, they should stop," he asserted.
