Assassin Who Killed County Official Lynched

A 28-year-old man was lynched by an angry mob for allegedly killing a Homa Bay County Official after receiving a Sh50,000 payment.

Bernard Oding' was killed at Nyalkinyi Trading Centre in Homa Bay town, after locals got wind that he stabbed Benson Ouma to death on December 1.

Speaking to the media, the County's Police Commandant John Omusanga, revealed that preliminary investigations had showed the late Oding' was paid Sh100,000 to kill Mr Ouma but had pocketed only half of the amount.

"We have found out that they had already pocketed sh50,000 as a down payment and the rest would be received after killing Ouma, but we are not sure of whether the remaining sh50,000 had also been released," Mr Omusanga said.

He further affirmed that the rest of the suspects and financier would be found and apprehended.

"It is very strange to find somebody killing another one cheaply because they were promised sh100,000. We want to know who the financier was because we cannot allow goons to take away lives of innocent Kenyans,"he said.

A few weeks ago, still in Homa Bay, police arrested another assassin after he was hired by a woman in Mombasa to kill her husband. The conspiracy between the woman and her househelp to end the life of her rich husband was discovered in time.
