Chaos Erupt at Bomas of Kenya After Gender PS Zeinab Hussein Campaigns for Jubilee

Chaos erupted on Friday during a historic event convened at the Bomas of Kenya after Gender Principal Secretary (PS) Zeinab Hussein campaigned for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

During the event dubbed “Ni Mama”,  which is reportedly the largest political gathering for women in Kenya's history, Ms Hussein irked the crowd after appearing to have been campaigning for the government by asking the attendees to back Kenyatta.

The sentiments seemed to have rubbed a section of the over 4000 women in the forum the wrong way as they shouted down the PS.

The situation got worse as the meeting turned into a shouting match with some supporting Ms Hussein, while others rejected her call, insisting the forum should not be turned into a vote-hunting ground.

The women are said to have engaged each other in verbal attacks despite frantic efforts by the event organisers to calm the situation.

The event is aimed at sensitizing women to support each other in the August 8 General Election.

It was graced by among others Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua, former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu and Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga.
