Charity Ngilu, Gideon Moi to Join NASA

The National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders were on Monday holed up in a top secret meeting meant to strategise on the much-anticipated August 8 election.

Though the details of the meeting attended by CORD leader Raila Odinga, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford-Kenya's Moses Wetangula remain scanty, it has now emerged that the Opposition will be roping in more powerful politicians to join the Alliance.

Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa divulged to the Daily Nation that KANU Chairman Gideon Moi and former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu would be in NASA.

Mr Wamalwa emphasised that the Opposition was determined to remove the Jubilee Government from power stating: “This is the beginning of a new huge movement.”

“It will carry so many leaders other than the four. We are going to have Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Charity Ngilu on board, just to name two,” Wamalwa said.

The alleged entry of Mr Moi into NASA comes at a time KANU has been noncommittal on which vehicle to support in the upcoming General Election.

The cockerel party has been weighing its options with the members mandating the Baringo Senator to scout on whether to join NASA or President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party.

Nonetheless, on Monday KANU announced that it was looking for a presidential candidate.

At the same time, Ms Ngilu has never been outwardly open on which side of the divide she is aligned.
