An Assistant Chief in North Pokot Sub-County was stoned to death by his nephew, following a dispute over family land.
According to the area Commissioner Abdulzack Jaldeza, Chief Felix Amendo was killed at his home by his drunk nephew, who took a big stone and hit him on the head following an argument.
The Chief succumbed to the injuries as he was being rushed to hospital, the Standard reports.
Mr Jaldeza said that the family had for a long time been embroiled in a land row, without reaching an agreement.
“I think that might have contributed to his death,"Jaldeza said.
