Jubilee parliamentarians led by Majority Leader Aden Duale have issued a stern warning to CORD lawmakers against disrupting President Uhuru Kenyatta's State of the Nation address.
In a press conference at the Parliament buildings, Duale asked the House Speaker to invoke Standing Orders when dealing with the supposed planned disruption.
“President shall be heard in silence. Those who want to disrupt should read standing orders ,” Duale stated.
"It is our own procedures that the President will be heard in silence. He will be heard with no comments, no questions and we expect ... the two Speakers to ensure that orderly conduct is observed," he added.
It was reported on Thursday, that the Opposition legislators were planning to skip the National address in protest of bad governance by the Jubilee administration.
Duale rubbished the scheme stating that: “The only State of the Nation address provided for in the constitution will be in Parliament not Kibera”.
According to reports, CORD had laid down a plan to walk out on President Kenyatta to show no confidence in his leadership.
