CS Dan Kazungu Condemns Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho For "Glorifying" His D-

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has been heavily criticised by Mining Cabinet Secretary Dan Kazungu for claiming that youths could make it in life even with low academic grades.

The CS who was speaking during the handing over of water pumps to farming groups at Chakama Malindi sub-county blasted the Governor for what termed glorifying his D-.

“Joho should not glorify a D-, he is misleading Coast people. It is not correct for Coast people to get a D- grade,’’ Mr Kazungu stated.

Kazungu added that Joho’s utterances could have negative repercussions in the region.

“I appreciate youths who go through problems in their school life, but let those challenges be the driving force to make them do better and excel in their studies,’’ the former Malindi MP stated.

He was accompanied by other Ministers including Mwangi Kiunjuri (Devolution), Eugene Wamalwa (Water), Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro and Taita Taveta Women Rep Joyce Lay.

Last month, Joho publicly announced that he scored a D- in his KCSE examination adding that he was proud of the results.

He added that youth in the country should use him as an example to demonstrate that they could also excel in life even with poor academic grades.
