Deputy President William Ruto Blocks Twitter User For Comment on Food Prices

A Twitter user claims to have been blocked from following Deputy President William Ruto after posting a letter to him and President Uhuru Kenyatta concerning the tough economic times.

DP Ruto had posted a tweet seeking to explain the reasons behind the current high food prices and to assure members of the public that the government was working to resolve the situation.

We are working to stabilise the prices of essential commodities, which have soared because of external factors.

Ruto's tweet seemed to have angered a majority of other social media users who expressed little confidence in the Deputy President's assurances.

@WilliamsRuto In the 90s Kenya never received any foreign aid and yet most of this commodities were not out of reach to common Kenyan. Something is wrong!
