Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has revealed that Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto was working behind the scenes plotting Deputy President William Ruto’s downfall.
Murkomen was responding to claims that the Jubilee Party was losing popularity in the South Rift region after Governor Ruto’s defection to the National Super Alliance (NASA).
He stated that he had foreseen Ruto’s defection way back but no one believed him.
“Finally, the things I used to say have come to completion. Three years ago when Ruto was in Hague, we revealed that a few politicians had regrouped and wanted to inherit him.
“Isaac has always wanted to undermine the Deputy President. He is desperate and will lose elections regardless of the party he has joined. He hopes to be given a ministry. What a fallacy,” he stated.
Ruto defected to NASA and was officially unveiled on Thursday afternoon at the Bomas Kenya.
He was welcomed to the alliance by co-principals Raila Odinga, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
Ruto is set to become the 5th principal and according to sources, he has already been promised a few slots if NASA wins the elections.
It was revealed that all the co-principals would get four slots in the 22-man cabinet and they were expected to fill the slots with people from different communities as a sign of uniting Kenyans in an all-inclusive government.
