An abandoned Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was Sunday, May 3 found abandoned near a petrol station in Mlango Kubwa area, Nairobi.
The device which is said to have been ready to explode had four bottles of petrol, a bottle of ammonium fertilizer and a detonator attached to it according to bomb officials.
According to a report on the Standard, the device was found Sunday night by a resident who alerted police of a suspicious item on the roadside which was later carried away and safely detonated by bomb officials.
Confirming the incident, Nairobi Police Commander Benson Kibui has said they are yet to get those behind the manufacture and delivery of the device to the scene.
