Former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende will vie for Nairobi Governorship in the coming elections on a United Democratic Party (UDP) ticket.
In a statement, UDP, which is led by former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, stated that Marende will be unveiled soon as the party's Gubernatorial candidate for Nairobi County.
In 2013, Marende lost the speaker's battle to incumbent speaker Justin Muturi who was overwhelmingly voted for by the Jubilee party.
Marende has been serving as the Chairman of Kenya Power.
