Former Tourism Permanent Secretary Rebecca Nabutola was attacked by robbers on Monday morning at her home in Kinanie near Athi River.
Four gangsters, who were armed with axes and other weapons, forced their way into her house by smashing her main door.
Ms Nabutola was injured on her knee and left ankle while her husband Julius Mumokituku was hit on the face using a stone.
The robbers made away with items worth Sh370,000 and mobile phones whose worth is unknown.
“During the incident, they were robbed of four golden rings and wrist watch, all amounting to Sh 350,000 and a wallet containing Sh20,000,” police stated.
The couple was rushed to Shallom Community Hospital where they were treated and discharged.
Athi River Police Chief Sharma Wariu revealed that two suspects have been arrested.
Investigations into the robbery have already started.
