Gor Mahia Fans Stop Bokello's Burial

The fans of Gor Mahia FC on Saturday invaded the burial of Boniface Aggrey Okello popularly known as Bokello, bringing the ceremony in Kisumu to a halt.

The charged fans reportedly said that since the deceased was an ardent fan of the club, he had to watch the match between Gor Mahia and Sony Sugar before he could be laid to rest.

Politicians including Kisumu Senator Anyang' Nyong'o ,who had attended the funeral, were evacuated since the rowdy youth restricted them from addressing mourners.

“As Gor Mahia fans, we we are saddened by the way politicians want to take over this burial ceremony,” said a fan quoted by Nation.

Carrying the casket on their shoulders, Kogalo fans moved round the venue singing and chanting luo heroic praises, ignoring calls for calm from the family.

They maintained that they would take the body to Moi stadium and return it for burial as soon as the Kenya Premier Top 8 Final clash was over.

Bokello who passed on after a short illness was an actor in Inspekta Mwala, a show that airs on Citizen TV and was also a performer in a comic Luo skit on Ramogi FM.
